[b]Oswald Chambers talks about how Jesus was separate from this world and yet He lived right in the middle of it.[/b] In John 17: [i]16 Jesus says to the Father about the Disciples: "They are not of the world even as I am not of it."[/i] When we focus on the cross, on Jesus' sacrifice for us, we become Kingdom People just like Jesus. We live spiritually in God's World even while we are physically here, in this world. It is how we are able to walk calmly through all of the storms of life, all the trials of this world. It is how we find God's peace. Shalom. Spend each morning in prayer thanking Jesus for what He has done for us. :D...

FINDING OUR PATH

Once we understand that fact and truly accept it, then life is no longer difficult. James tells us in chapter 1: [i]2. Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3. because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.[/i] Life seems difficult because we expect certain things from it. We expect mostly good things, not bad things. We expect joy and happiness, not pain and suffering. When pain and suffering comes we want explanations. We ask God �Why,� and expect Him to take it away. We forget that pain and suffering are just as much a part of life as joy and happiness. It is in the pain and suffering that the truth of God�s promises are revealed. It is in pain and suffering that our faith in those promises becomes real. It is in pain and suffering that we become mature and complete with God. God�s promise to Joshua can be ours to hold: He said: [b][i]As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. (Joshua 1:5).[/i][/b] Hold on to God�s promises. AN ENCOURAGING THOUGHT

I Borrowed this from My friend Pastor Merk Wilson's Blog. Thanks for a lift Mark: Today is a brand new day � a delightful opportunity to begin again. I must not be held hostage by yesterday�s pain. If my heart remains open, and my spirit is right, yesterday�s pain becomes today�s gain. I will grow into a better person through the sufferings. Today is a brand new day � and it needs to stand on it�s own. I will not allow myself to be seduced by yesterday�s success, nor frustrated by yesterday�s failures. I shall fulfill my duty this day, and never look backwards for an excuse. Today is a brand new day � and it�s the only one I have. I refuse to let tomorrow�s concerns steal today�s joy. If tomorrow is going to be bad � why should it destroy the day I have? That would mean two bad days instead of just one. I want to make the best of what has been given to me. Today is a brand new day � a gift from God for the investment of life. It is not to be squandered by worry or regret. Consider the moments. Moments are the stuff life is made of. They march by us briskly in an unceasing parade. We can join in the march � or slump sullenly on the sidewalk, wondering why nobody throws candy anymore. Today is a brand new day � each sunrise serves to remind us of resurrection power. No problems, burdens, or concerns are greater than the God who holds this day in his hands. Each day breathes new life to broken dreams, shattered hopes, and rending disappointments. Somehow, situations always look better in the morning. AWANA CLUB FOR KIDS

[b]PROVERBS 22:6. Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. [/b] Kids are the greatest asset our nation has. If we lose the hearts of our children we have lost the heart of our country and our nation is doomed. Our children face so many hardships and challenges today. Fifty percent are in broken homes with one parent desperately trying to take care of them. Many are being raised by grandparents. Much of the things they learn about life comes from what they see on TV. Our schools are becoming filled with "Sensitivity Training" that tells them that homosexuality is OK. Sex education is really that, education about how to have sex. Abstinence is largely ignored. How can our kids grow up to be men and women who live lives that honor God when so few even know that He exists. AWANA can change that. We can change that by doing AWANA. Helps us with the AWANA program. Volunteer. Bring kids. Come have fun and help to save a childs life. Can we spend our lives on anything better? Pastor Steve :D...

We are all Missionaries

Matthew 28:18. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20. and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." We often see these words as telling us to go to foreign countries. Of course, this means we need to sell everything, take our family and move to some place where we can't even speak the language. But perhaps Jesus didn't mean for all of us to go to that extreme. God orchestrates where we live and where we serve Him in many ways. "Go" may simply mean, Go to your neighbor, or your friend, or someone in your family. How about your neighbor's children. Can we "Go" and invite them to come to AWANA Club? Maybe we can even bring them on Wednesday night. Maybe we can even be a part of AWANA and help to make them new disciples. A Childs life is an awful thing to waste. If we can reach the children today and teach them about Jesus, they are going to become youths that honor God. Youths that honor God will become adults that serve Him and live the way He wants all of us to. Then, they will raise families with children that can go to AWANA also. Become a missionary in your neighborhood. It is the nation that Jesus has sent you to. :lol :D
